Brilliant discussion! Such a pleasure to watch it! ‘The Last Quarter of the Moon’ will definitely be on my first book list with acquisitions from your bookstore.
You know, while I was listening to you talking about that book, my mind travelled back in time when I read Mo Yan’s ‘Red Sorghum: A Novel of China’ and, before that, Pearl S. Buck’s ‘The Good Earth’. I was fascinated with the beguiling atmosphere and stories of an ancient and mysterious land and people I’m not acquainted with.
So your arguments in favour of Chi Zijian’s book have made me all the more eager to purchase and read it. Thank you kindly! 🥰

I haven't read this book but I am considering it now!! I loved watching this first book club podcast. Thank you. I've just ordered two out of the three upcoming book club reads.

I think this would be better if you used a bigger microphone. 😂
